November 23, 1869 --- June 2, 1917

Katrina Walkner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fredolin Klassi was born Nov. 23, 1869 at Exeter, Green county, Wisconsin. She moved with her parents to Humboldt Co., Ia., when she was about 5 years old, where she resided until she married Joseph Walkner on Feb. 23, 1888. About 3 years after her marriage she moved to Kossuth Co., and lived there for 9 years, then returned to Humboldt Co., and resided until death. She took sick about the 23 of May 1917 and about the 29, she was taken to Des Moines for an operation. The operation was successful but other complications set in which caused her death. She died June 2, 1917 at the age of 47 years, 6 months and 9 days.

To this union was born six children, two of which preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband and four children, three sons, Alvey J., Millard F., Lloyd L., and one daughter, Viola M. She leaves seven sisters, four brothers, other relatives and many friends. She united with the M. E. church at Corwith about 24 years ago and since remained a member of that church. Mrs. Walkner was a devoted wife and mother, spending much of her time with her family and has now entered into rest. Funeral services were held in the Evangelical church Tuesday, June 5 at 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. J. S. Nicholson of the Baptist church at Goldfield. Interment in the Vernon Cemetery.
