Frank Walkner Dies Early Monday Morning of Apoplectic Stroke

The community was greatly shocked to learn of the death of Frank Walkner, retired farmer and citizen of Renwick for many years. Mr. Walkner had just arisen from his bed about six o'clock in the morning when he suffered a stroke of apoplexy and passed away within the hour.

Frank Walkner was born in DuPage County, Illinois, November 17, 1858, and died at his home in Renwick, Iowa, September 3, 1928, aged 69 years, 9 months and 26 days. He was married to Anna Freitag, Nov. 1, 1891, and was a continual resident of Vernon Township since 1865, at which time the family moved to Humboldt County. Mr. Walkner is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. George Rice and Mrs. Walter Hansen, both of Renwick; two grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Edward Eggerth of Renwick, two brothers, Joseph of Hardy and Fred of Charles City. Funeral services were held at the home at two o'clock Wednesday afternoon, Rev. E. C. Granner giving the sermon. Burial was made at Vernon cemetery.
