23 June 1898 --- 29 September 1972

Services for Leo Kinseth, 74, were held Monday in St. Olaf Lutheran Church with interment in the parish cemetery [Bode, Iowa]. Schellhammer Funeral Home, West Bend, was in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Kinseth died at his home in Bode after an apparent heart attack.

Surviving are his widow, Ellen; a daughter, Mrs. Rodney Lewis, Gibbon, Minn.; three grandchildren; sisters and brothers: Mrs. Olga Salisburg, Victor, Milton and Herbert Kinseth, all of Fort Dodge; Miss Mable Kinseth, Pocahontas; Mrs. Selma Lindsay, Chatham, N.J.; Mrs. Alice Stamper, Gilmore City; and Mrs. Jeannette Higgins, Duncombe.

Mr. Kinseth was born at Dows and moved to Humboldt where he was graduated from high school. He was a Navy veteran of World War I and married Ellen Bergh in 1921 at Ray, N.D. He operated a grocery store in Bode from 1919 to 1947 and for the past 25 years had been an insurance agent for Northwest Mutual Life Insurance Co. He was a member of the Fort Dodge Elks Club, treasurer of his church, a member of the American Legion, at the time of his death he was on Humboldt County Soldier's Relief Board, director of the Bode State Bank; a past member of the town council and fire department, past president of the library board and past secretary of the school board.
