Dorothy Bernice Fuoss was born June 23, 1926, in Eagle Grove, Iowa, the daughter of Lyle and and Bernice (Kinsella) Reynolds. They later moved to Greene before moving and settling in Algona, where she attended school and graduated from St. Cecelia's Academy in 1945. After her schooling Dorothy worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company for six years. On February 21, 1952, Dorothy was united in marriage to Roscoe Fuoss at St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Algona. After their marriage they lived on and farmed the family farm north of Whittemore. Roscoe retired from farming in 1985, due to failing health. Dorothy put her activities on hold and turned to being a devoted caregiver for Roscoe and they were able to stay on the farm until moving to Algona in March of 1999.

Dorothy thoroughly enjoyed being with her family, especially the time she was able to spend with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed quilting, flowers, playing bingo, spending time at the Senior Citizens Center, as well as being an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and Iowa Hawkeyes. Dorothy was an active member of the St. Cecelia Parish, Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court St. Cecelia #283 and served as a past Cub Scout Den Mother and 4-H leader.

Dorothy died Saturday, April 20, 2013, at the Algona Manor Care Center in Algona. She was 86. She is survived by her children, Thomas and Cynthia Fuoss of Sheldon; Timothy and Caryl Fuoss of Whittemore; Theresa and David Frank of Mason City; grandchildren, Shannon and Derrick Bouwman and their children, Ava and Ruby of Sioux Falls, SD; Jennifer Fuoss of Sioux Falls, SD; Melissa and Joshua Clark of Denver, CO; Lucas and Amanda Frank and their children, Addison and Lainey of Ocala, FL; a brother, Dick and Jean Reynolds of Algona and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roscoe; daughter, Judy; siblings, Jess Reynolds, Betty Dean, Margaret Seiler, Leta Meyer, Duane Reynolds, Phyllis Hansen and Bob Reynolds.
