Delores Vadonna (Skilbred) Bauman, the daughter of Raymond and Julia (Nielsen) Skilbred, was born September 30, 1929, Blairsburg, Iowa. She was raised and educated in the area of her birth, graduating from Blairsburg High School in 1948. On January 19, 1955, Delores was united in marriage with Roger Bauman, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Parsonage in Eagle Grove. The couple made their home and farmed west of Woolstock for over 50 years and after retiring in 1988, they moved to Eagle Grove. Delores was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eagle Grove. She enjoyed cooking, baking, canning, gardening and flowers.

Delores passed away on Monday, April 22, 2013, at Rotary Ann Nursing Home in Eagle Grove, at the age of 83 years. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers-in-law, Nicholas (Marcella) Bauman and Donald Bauman. Survivors include her husband, Roger Bauman of Eagle Grove; a sister, Barbara Alfseike and husband Andy of Jewell; sisters-in-law, Marian Berg and husband, Gene of Eagle Grove and Doris Bauman of Clarion; nephews, Douglas Alfseike, Denny Bauman, Leo Bauman, Gene Bauman and Leonard Bauman and a niece, Deb Jorgensen. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, April 25, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eagle Grove, with Father Nils Hernandez officiating. Visitation is Wednesday, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
