PETERSON, 72, DIES AT DOWS
Succumbs on Birthday; Wife and 3 Children left by Iowa Pioneer

DOWS, Dec. 30. — Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon in the Presbyterian church, the
Rev. R. A. Brough in charge, for George H. Peterson, 72, who died Thursday night on his birthday. He had been quite feeble after the Influenza last winter and a heart attack came last Sunday from which he never entirely rallied. Mr. Peterson was born in Jefferson county, at Huntingtonville, NY., and came to Iowa with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Peterson, in 1869. His parents were among the first pioneers and settled at Alden. Mr. Peterson was married to Miss Pearl Thomas and they lived on their farm southwest of Dows until a few years ago they moved to Dows. Mrs. Peterson survives him, also their three children, Lawrence of Detroit, Guy, on the home farm near here and Mrs. Jack McIntosh
of Ida Grove. Two brothers are left, Charles F. Peterson in Florida and Fred H. Peterson, mayor of Dows.
