Elsie Penwell, 85, of Carpenter, Wyoming died May 27 in Cheyenne. She was born Nov. 6, 1915, on a homestead in Vincent, Iowa. Mrs. Penwell was a homemaker. She married Pete Penwell on April 18, 1934, in Kimball, Neb. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Burns, Lutheran Ladies Aid and was active in the Democratic Party. Mrs. Penwell is survived by daughters, Shirley McGrann of Pinedale and Karen Walden of Carpenter; brothers, Hilbert Schliske of Torrington and Robert Schliske of Cheyenne; sisters, Esther Hagemann of Denver and Eleanor Romas of Los Angeles, Calif.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete Penwell; brothers, Elmer Schliske and Ronald Schliske; and a sister, Edna Gallina.
