Mrs. W. W. McCurry died last Saturday evening of a heart attack at her home in Renwick. She had been in failing health for the past year and seriously ill the past few weeks. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 at the home and at 2 o'clock at the Methodist church with Rev. C. R. Yeager delivering the sermon. Burial was made a Goldfield.
Fannie McQuaid, daughter of Silas and Amanda McQuaid, was born February 13, 1863 at Marengo, Iowa, where she grew to young womanhood. She came to Goldfield with her aunt, Mrs. Montgomery. She was united in marriage May 6, 1884 to William W. McCurry and to this union three children were born. Roy Herbert, Mrs. A. R. Martin and James Howard, all of whom reside in this community.
Mr. and Mrs. McCurry established their home on the farm two and one-half miles south of Renwick where their son Howard is now located and resided there until the spring of 1917, when they moved to Renwick, occupying the new home they had built and where they have resided since. Mrs. McCurry passed away Saturday evening, November 14, 1936 at the age of 78 years, 9 months and 1 day. She leaves to mourn her departure, besides her husband and three children, twelve grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. W. B. Williams and Mrs. Levi Gustafson, both of Fort Dodge, and a host of other relatives and friends.
