RITES HELD FOR MRS. GEORGE MARTIN

Funeral services for Mrs. George H. Martin, 81, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday June 18, at the First Methodist church in Eagle Grove with Rev. Bernard G. Olson officiating. Burial was at Glenwood Cemetery, Goldfield with the Sandvig Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Surviving are two sons and a daughter, George A. Martin, Madison, Wis., Dr. Frank Martin, Palo Alto Calif., and Miss Mildred Martin, San Francisco and six grandchildren. Mrs Martin, the former Blanch French, was born in Vernon Township and graduated from Renwick High school in 1903. After graduation she moved with her family to Canon City, Colo., where she married Dr. George H. Martin of Eagle Grove, in 1906. The Martins moved to Eagle Grove in 1917. Mrs. Martin actively assisted her husband in his practice and cared for many of his patients in her home.

Following Dr. Martin's retirement in 1946, the couple lived in California. They later moved to Madison, Wis., where he died in 1950. Mrs. Martin died Wednesday at the Oak Wood Nursing home in Madison following a long illness. She was a member of the First Methodist Church.

Several Attend Martin Funeral

Among the relatives and friends who attended funeral services, Saturday afternoon in Eagle Grove Methodist Church for Mrs. George Martin of Madison, Wis., were Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Trask and David, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Trask, Mr. and Mrs. Frank French, Ona Marie Engstrom, Mr. and Mrs. Fred A. Engstrom, Mrs. Bertie C. Martin, Mr. and Mrs. Glen F. Martin, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Martin, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Earl Martin, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Martin, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Martin, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Nelson, Mrs. Merle Martin, Gerri Donna Beth and Bettie, Mrs. Mary McPeak, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Ballard, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Clowes, Mrs. Zelda Martin of Goldfield, Mr. and Mrs. Art Lubbert and Clair of Des Moines, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Steffy and Erie of Lincoln, Nebr., Miss Mildred Martin, of San Francisco, Calif., Dr. Frank Martin of Palo Alto Calif., Mr. and Mrs. George Martin, Steve and Lynne, Madison, Wis., Mrs. Robert Laird, Storm Lake. Following the services, many of these and some children gathered in the Charlie Trask home for a few hours visiting.
