September 22, 1840 -- June 22, 1912

One of our old and highly respected citizens passed away at 9:30 on Saturday morning when Mrs. Mary Tanck Kelling was taken to a higher life. She had been in poor health but was able to be up and attended to her household duties until about two weeks before her death. Her death was a complication of diseases and a few days before her death erysipelas developed causing her great pain. Mrs. Kelling was 71 years of age. She had been a resident of Wright county for many years and in Renwick since 1900 when she and her estimable husband built a modern home and moved to Renwick. To know her was to love her and the highest testimony of her life was the family of grown sons and daughters, aged husband and other relatives and friends who gathered at her home on Monday afternoon at 1 o'clock to listen to a fine discourse by Rev. Nicholson of Goldfield which was given at her beautiful home at her request. Beautiful flowers were strewn on her casket. A large concourse of friends followed her to her last resting place at Goldfield. She had been and at the time of her death was a member of the Lutheran church.
