Mrs. Dessa L. Richardson was born on a farm near Corwith, Iowa, to Fred R. and Matilda Southwick on July 28, 1888. She passed away at the Belmond Hospital March 18, 1958 at the age of 69 years, 7 months and 21 days. Mrs. Richardson moved to Renwick when a small child where she has lived the remainder of her life. She had two sisters and one brother, Mrs. Lucille Paulson of Des Moines, Glen Southwick of Prescott, Ariz, and Mrs. Maud McGowan who preceded her in death. On October 1, 1908, she was united in marriage to Murl B. Richardson. They have two daughters, Mrs. Wilbur (Leola) Nissen, and Mrs. Donald (Dorothy) McGowan, both of Renwick.

Mrs. Richardson was a member of the First Methodist Church of Renwick but she attended the Baptist Church with her family since her marriage. All her life, she has been an active partner in the hardware business of husband's. When her health permitted, she had taken an active part in community activities.

She leaves to mourn, her husband, Murl B. Richardson, her two children, Mrs. Wilbur (Leola) Nissen and Mrs. Donald (Dorothy) McGowan, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild besides her many friends and relatives. She will always be remembered for her pleasing personality, her sweet disposition, and her devotion to her family.
