Mrs. Wilbur Higgins, 60, died at noon Monday, June 20, 1955, at her home in Renwick, after an illness of several years. She was born Feb 1895 in Baltimore, Maryland. She was married to Wilbur Higgins on January 31, 1920. The couple moved to Renwick in 1921 from Decatur, IL. Mrs. Higgins was member of the Royal Neighbors Lodge, the American Legion Auxillary and the Methodist church, where she taught Sunday School for 20 years. Mrs. Higgins is survived by her husband. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister and 1/2 sister. Funeral services were held Thursday June 23, at 2 p.m. at the Methodist church in Renwick with Rev. C. E. Custer officiating.
Mr. Stanley McCurry song "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Nearer My God to Thee" accompanied by Mrs. Harl Gimer at the Organ. Pallbearers were Gerald Nelson, Jack Pohlman, B. H. Sadler, Leroy Thompson, George Markman and Harry Volder. Burial was in the Lu Verne cemetery.
