WILBUR HIGGINS, RITES CONDUCTED HERE WEDNESDAY

Final Military Rites were conducted here Wednesday morning at the Renwick Methodist Church for Wilbur J. Higgins, 62, who passed away Sunday morning at the Veteran's Hospital in Des Moines, IA. Rev. Roy A. Biesemeyer officiated at the church and cemetery with the Beenes Funeral Service in charge of the services. Music were provided by Mrs. Stanley McCurry with accompaniment at the Organ by Mrs. Harl Gimes.

Wilbur James Higgins was born July 19, 1894 at Dundas, Illinois and passed away July 22, 1956 at the Veteran's Hospital in Des Moines at the age of 62 years and 3 days. He was united in marriage to Miss Beulah Donnelly January 31, 1920 at Baltimore, Maryland. They moved to Decatur, Illinois where they lived until they move to Renwick, Iowa, in 1921 and have made this their residence ever since. Mr. Higgins served his county in World War I, enlisting March 28, 1917 at Fort Logan, Colo., and receiving an Honorable Discharge June 20, 1920 in Chicago, IL. He became a member of the Harvey McPeak Post 289 of the American Legion in Renwick. He was a Painter by trade and was a Janitor of the Public School for many years. His wife Beulah preceded him in death June 20, 1955. He is survived by a niece, Mrs. Lee H. Walters of Long Island, New York and a nephew John S. Higgins of Excelsior, MN.
