BRIMFIELD, IL - Ralph E. Burgess, 77, of 9803 Fox Creek Drive died at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2003, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria. Born June 22, 1925, in rural Princeville to Harlan E. and Elsie A. Forbes Burgess, he married Ada Belle Brock in 1951 in Webster City, Iowa. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Mark (and Karen) of Oak Park and Craig (and Carol) of Indianapolis; one brother, Howard of Peoria; one sister, Jean Hastings of Peoria; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers. He was a World War II Navy veteran, serving from 1944 to 1946. He worked for General Foods for 10 years and later worked for Duo-Fast Corp., retiring in 1982. Cremation has been accorded. Graveside services will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria at a later date. The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co. in Peoria is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to any charity.
