October 12, 1867 --- August 12, 1942

Mrs. Josephine Gunn died Wednesday at her home in Cylinder. Funeral services will be held tomorrow (Friday) at 2:00 p.m. at Bethany Lutheran church in Emmetsburg with the Rev M.C. Thompson officiating. The pall bearers selected are John Cody, James Cullen, Frank North, Elvin Anderson, Ben Gilseth, and Gus Frink. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery here. The Foy Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.

The deceased was born in Illinois on October 12, 1866 and was nearing the age of 76 at the time of her death. She lived in the Cylinder community 40 years and was highly esteemed there. Her husband, Daniel Gunn, died in 1926.

Eight children survive as follows: Louis and John of Emmetsburg, Mrs H.H. Frink of Barnesville, Minn.; Mrs. Theodore Engler of Stillwater, Minn.; Mrs. Grace Miller of Whittemore; Mrs. Knute Gjerde of New London, Minn; Mrs. Fred Wettenkamp of Red Wing, Minn., and Mrs. Frank Goddard of Emmetsburg. Sincere sympathy is extended to the sons and daughters from whom the deceased has been taken.
