Michael Wayne Marvets, the son of Wayne and Mary (Jensen) Marvets, was born on February 25, 1947, in Waterloo, Iowa. He was raised and educated in the area of his birth. On June 5, 1965, Mike was united in marriage with Frances M. Myers, in Preston, Minn. The couple made their home in Evansdale, Waterloo, and moved to Eagle Grove in 1976. Mike worked many years for Brauman Appliance, Eagle Grove Group Home, and the Eagle Grove Community Schools, retiring in 1986. Mike was a people person – loved visiting and sharing with everyone, and he was extremely proud of his
family: daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed fishing trips and the days of talking on the CB Radio. “Dad has touched our hearts in so many ways and his life will be forever cherished. We Love You Funny Mike … later!”

Mike passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2013, at the Clarion Wellness & Rehabilitation Center,
at the age of 65 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Frances, on March 21, 2012; granddaughter, Aime Jo Anderson; and baby boy Anderson. Survivors include his four daughters: Teresa Beisell of Eagle Grove, Michelle Schoon and husband, Troy, of Audubon, Brenda West and husband, John, of Webster City, and Tina Anderson and husband, Kyle, of Clarion; nine grandchildren: Jessica Milliken, Megan Schoon, Kyle West, Darrick Anderson, Chase Schoon, Morgan Schoon, Bryce Beisell, Devon Anderson, and Dillon Anderson; three great-grandchildren: Ayden Feske, Layne Feske, and Holly Anderson; two sisters, Judy Scott and Rosie Wilson; and four brothers, Ron Marvets, Steve Marvets (Karen), and Jody Marvets.

Memorial services were held on Monday, February 25, at 1:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Eagle Grove, with visitation two hours prior to service time. Burial was held in Rose Hill Cemetery at Eagle Grove. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family. Foust Funeral Home of Eagle Grove was in charge of arrangements.
