Former Railroad Engineer Succumbs

Harrison D. Nelson, 77, a retired engineer for the North Western railroad between Hawarden and Eagle Grove, died November 25 at the Rotary Ann home at Eagle Grove where he had been a patient several weeks. Mrs. Nelson is residing at the Rotary Ann home due to ill health. Masonic funeral services were held Monday of last week at Eagle Grove.

LE MARS WOMAN'S FATHER SUCCUMBS AT EAGLE GROVE

Harrison Nelson, 77, father of Mrs. Wesley Hoefle, Le Mars, died last Friday after a 3-month illness at the Rotary Ann nursing home, Eagle Grove. Attending funeral services from this area Monday afternoon at the Sandvig funeral home, Eagle Grove, were Mr. and Mrs. Hoefle, Mr. and Mrs. Noel Ahmann of Remsen, Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Snow and family and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hummel of Akron, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Bliss and Mr: and Mrs. Ivyl Knapp of Westfield. Burial was at Eagle Grove, where Mr. Nelson was a lifelong resident. He was a retired Chicago Northwestern railroad man. Surviving are his wife, Pearl, Eagle Grove; a son, Orvin of River Grove, Ill.; three daughters, Mrs. Frances Hoefle of LeMars, Mrs. Melvina Cupiss of Des Moines and Mrs. Helen Snow of Akron; eight grandchildren and one great-grandson.
