EAGLE GROVE - Georgia (Dempsey) Schulz, the daughter of Milton and Theodocia (Bratt) Dempsey, was born April 14, 1922, in Jonesboro, Tennessee. On June 13, 1940, Georgia was united in marriage with Frank W. Schulz. They resided in the country at Pontiac, Illinois until 1956 when they bought farmland and moved to Eagle Grove. Frank preceded her in death on November 7, 1982. Georgia was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove, Know Your Neighbor Club and Equality Club. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and playing cards with family and friends. She will be greatly missed.

Georgia passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2013, at Iowa Specialty Hospital in Clarion, at the age of 90 years. She was also preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Larry; son, Roger and granddaughter, Teresa (Pletcher) Backeus.

Georgia is survived by two daughters, Judy Pletcher (Richard) of Clarion and Jane Locker (Gary) of Slater; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 12, 2013, at Evangelical Lutheran in Eagle Grove at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Jason Cooper officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
