DODGE CENTER, MN -- The funeral for Linden Ellis McNeilus will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Dodge Center, with the Rev. James Van Arsdale officiating. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery in Wasioja.

Mr. McNeilus, 84, of Wildwood, Ga., formerly of Dodge Center, died Monday (Nov. 13, 2000) at Wildwood Lifestyle Center and Hospital in Wildwood, Ga. Born Nov. 17, 1915, in Clarion, Iowa, he spent most of his childhood in the Clarion area. He attended Oak Park Academy in Nevada, Iowa, and Bethel Academy and Hylandale Academy, both in Wisconsin. On July 3, 1935, he married Iola Ames of La Crosse, Wis. She died in 1970. He later married Camille Hamilton of Walla Walla, Wash., and they lived in rural Dodge Center until 1998, when they moved to Wildwood to be near its medical facility. Mr. McNeilus was in the iron and metal recycling business all his working life, including 30 years as operator of Lin's Iron and Metal in Dodge Center. A Seventh Day Adventist since 1939, he served as an elder in the churches he attended, was involved in missions, and he and his second wife published the Self Supporting Worker, a monthly journal reporting on missions and projects operated by laymen of the church around the world.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Dennis and Garwin, both of Dodge Center, and Devon of Roy, Wash.; two daughters, Eulonn Austin of Clifton, Texas, and Leasa Hodges of Dodge Center; three stepsons, Brian Hamilton of Columbus, Wis., Douglas Hamilton of Milton Freewater, Ore., and Robert Hamilton of Bellevue, Wash.; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Harry of Dodge Center and Vernon of Knoxville, Tenn. Three sisters and a brother preceded him in death.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Czaplewski Family Funeral Home in Dodge Center and an hour before the service Friday at the church.
