Funeral services for Mrs. Lew White, 68, a resident of Clarion for many years, who died Saturday morning at her home following an illness of several months, were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Clarion church of Christ. Rev. Bruce Matthews of the Grant Park Church of Christ of Des Moines, a former pastor of the Clarion church, conducted the service. Eyler funeral home was in charge of arrangements.

Myrtle M. House, daughter of Frederick and Alice House, was born in Carroll county, Ill., July 22, 1883. The family moved to Iowa and settled near Clarion, moving a few years later to Winterset where she attended school and taught in the schools there. She united with the Church of Christ in Winterset when she was 15 years of age, later transferring her membership to Clarion. She was united in marriage to Lewis J. White on March 28, 1909, and to them were born three children: Wilbur, of Bartlesville, Okla., Robert, who is with U.S. Marine Air Corps in the Mediterranean and was unable to attend the funeral, and Jean. She also leaves five grandchildren; an older sister, Mrs. Cora A. Doremus of Turlock, Calif., a brother, Howard T. House of Des Moines, a step-daughter, Bessie Adams of Chicago, and other relatives and hosts of friends.
