Funeral services for Mrs. Cora White were held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the United Presbyterian Church with the Rev. J. Curtiss Russell officiating. Burial was at Clarion Evergreen cemetery with Eyler Funeral home in charge of arrangements.

Cora White, daughter of Otto and Betty Rumford was born at Gibson, Iowa, on January 23, 1884. Death came Wednesday evening, January 15th at the Clarion Memorial hospital. She was the third child of a family of 10. Two brothers survive, Everett Rumford of Dodge City, Kansas and Leland Rumford of Hanston, Kansas. The family moved to Wright county in 1896. Cora was united in marriage to Hiram Murray White on December 25, 1901. One son, Ora, was the only child born to this union. Mrs. White became a member of the Clarion United Presbyterian church in 1896. When her family moved to the Wall Lake area she was associated with the Wall Lake Congregational church for several years, then transferred her membership back to the United Presbyterian church at Clarion, where she remained a faithful member until her death. The Whites lived in the Wall Lake community until 1951 at which time they moved to Clarion.

Cora White was preceded in death by her husband, Hiram Murray White in February 1952. Until a year ago she made her home here in Clarion and then she moved to the Rotary Ann Rest Home at Eagle Grove, Ia. Mrs. White is survived by her son and daughter-in-law; Mr. and Mrs. Ora White of Galt, her grandson and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice White of Galt and two great grandchildren. The 23rd Psalm was requested for the Meditation at the funeral given by Rev. J. Curtiss Russell, her pastor. Mrs. Robert McKee and Mrs. George Peterson sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "Beyond the Sunset" accompanied by Mrs. Calvin Milan. The pallbearers were Harry Soren, Victor Delano, Stanley Howieson, Bill Witzel, Ray Duer, Dennis Grover. Those attending from away: Everett Rumford, Dodge City, Kansas; Mr. and Mrs. Leland Rumford, Hanston, Kan., Mrs. Ina Rumford, Jetmore, Kansas; Mrs. Mary Lou Sinclair, Jetmore, Kansas; Mr. and Mrs. Gaylord Rumford, Waukeegan, Ill., Mrs. Lois Ann Halling, Hanston, Kansas, Irwin Hardy, Mason City and Mrs. Ina Harding, Coulter.
