9 July 1895 --- 19 June 1967

Funeral services were held last Wednesday, June 21, 1967 at the Eyler Funeral Home for Mrs. Lewis White with Rev. J. Curtiss Russell officiating. His meditation was based on the text from Luke 4:18 " He hath sent Me to heal the broken hearted." Mrs. Jack Freese accompanied by Mrs. Doris Phillips on the organ sang "The City Four Square" and "The Lord's Prayer." Casket bearers were Bernard Schumacher, Ray Duer, Ed Arndorfer, Frank Champlin, John Schutt and Ed Hilpipre.

Sadie Arlene White was born on July 9, 1895, to Constance and Anna Carpenter on a farm near Woolstock, Iowa. On June 9, 1967, she was injured in a fall in her home, but was making a satisfactory recovery when she passed away suddenly as a result of a cerebral hemorrhage at the Clarion Memorial Hospital on Monday, June 19, 1967. She was married to Lewis N. White at the Methodist parsonage in Eagle Grove, Iowa, on December 20, 1919. Their home was blessed with two children, a son, Carroll White of Iowa Falls and a daughter, Mrs. Maurice L. (Betty) Morford, of Clarion, Iowa. After 40 years of farming in the Clarion area, they moved to South Main Street in Clarion, where Mrs. White lived at the time of her death. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and three brothers, Arthur, Charles and Ed. Surviving are her children, two grandchildren, Jim D. and Carol Lynn Morford, and one sister, Mrs. Libbie Van Epps of Webster City and two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Susan Carpenter and Mrs. Olive Witherell. Mrs. White was a member of the French Church at Woolstock, Iowa, the V.F.W. Auxiliary and the Rebekah Lodge.
