December 8, 1926 --- November 4, 2012

Irene Nelson, 85, of Webster City, died Sunday, November 4, 2012 at her home. A Memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Webster City, with Revs. Mike Kroona and Tony Ede, officiating. Burial will be at the Ullensvang Cemetery near Thor. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday and prior to the service on Friday.

Irene Delores Davidson, daughter of Albert E. and Erna (Moenck) Davidson, was born December 8, 1926 in Duncombe. She attended rural schools in the Barnum area and graduated from Fort Dodge High School. On January 16, 1949, she married Harry Nelson in Fort Dodge. She worked for International Harvester in Webster County. They lived in Thor and Humboldt. The family moved to the Webster City area to expand their farming operation. Irene and Harry moved to Granby, CO. where they built their first home together. They later returned to Webster City to be close to family. Harry Nelson passed away September 30, 2012.

Mrs. Nelson is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Carl (Mike) and Melody Nelson of Eagle Grove; Mark and Korinne Nelson, Doug and Debra Nelson, all of Webster City; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Kenneth Getting of Williams; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; sister, Norma (Chuck) Fredrickson of Santa Maria, CA; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Hans (Carol) Nelson of Webster City; Clarence (Carole) Nelson of Lake Havasu, AZ; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Marjorie Parrish.

Irene was a member of the Lord of the Valley Church in Granby, Colorado and Trinity Lutheran Church in Webster City.
