FORMER RESIDENT TO BE BURIED AT BRICELYN TODAY

Memorial services for Mrs. Ernest Webster, the former Mrs. Selma Highland, will be held today, Thursday, June 28, 1973 at the Bricelyn Lutheran Church at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. William Ostroot will officiate. Mrs. Roger Shirk will be organist, and Ervin Hanson soloist. Casket bearers are Wallace Leland, Gerald Leland, Charles Holmseth, Bert Elvestrom, Roger Drake, Charles Besendorf. Interment will be at the Bricelyn Lutheran Cemetery with Lee Funeral Home of Bricelyn in charge of arrangements.

Selma Bernyce Marcus was born January 30, 1900 in Clarion, Wright County, Iowa to Elias C. and Ellen Marie Oakland Marcus. She was baptized on February 16, 1900 by Rev. H. C. Holm and confirmed on November 16, 1913 at the St. John's Lutheran Church at Kanawha, Iowa. She attended school in Clarion, Iowa. She was married to Elihu G. Highland on December 23, 1919 at Fort Dodge, Iowa. He died on December 31, 1970. She was united in marriage to Ernest U. Webster on February 6, 1972 at Frost, Minnesota. Mrs. Webster was a postal employee for many years in Bricelyn, working in the post office and also as a rural carrier while Mr. Highland was in the service. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Royal Neighbors of America and the Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Webster passed away Sunday, June 24, 1973 at the Salt Lake Hospital of natural causes. Also preceding her in death were her parents, a sister Alma Henrietta Engen, and brothers George, Philip, Elmer, and Orville and a granddaughter Pamela Crane. Survivors are her husband, daughters, Mrs. Arnold (Jean) Bromeland, Blue Earth; Mrs. William (Phyllis) Crane, Miami, Florida; nine grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Arthur (Ruth) Nessa, Eagle Grove, Iowa; Evelyn Marcus, Belmond, Iowa.
