Adeline Gustie Karpisek was born southwest of Dorchester, NE in Saline County on June 6, 1920, to Adolph J. and Otillie (Kohout) Kohout Sr. She attended Spring Valley District 55 through the 8th grade near her home where she was born, being the eldest she helped her parents on the farm. She was united in marriage to Lambert F. Karpisek on October 10, 1940. They farmed west of Wilber, NE and in March of 1942 they moved to their farm near Clarion, IA where they lived for 10 years. In December of 1953 they moved to a farm east of Dysart, IA. Lambert and Adeline farmed until moving to a home at 609 Jefferson Street in Dysart where she continued to live following Lambert's death. She enjoyed the outdoors helping out where ever she was needed, also her grandchildren, flower garden, baking, music, traveling and dancing with Lambert. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lambert on July 12, 2006, sisters, Velma Kohout and Erma Burda and a grandson Mark Harrison. She is survived by her son Larry (Jean) Karpisek of Dysart, two daughters, Darlene (Roger) Harder of Keystone, IA and Betty (James) Harrison of Traer, IA, a sister Mary Ann Pavlish of Dorchester, NE a brother Adolph (Doris) Kohout of Wilber, NE, 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
