Chester D. Fry dies at 100

Chester D. Fry, 100, died Friday, June 10, 1988, at Dows Care Center in Dows.

He was born March 27, 1888, in Jefferson County to Warren adn Ella May Stout Fry. He married Stella May Arnold Nov. 9, 1911, in Van Buren County. She died Nov. 26, 1959.

Fry was a farmer in Jefferson County before moving to Wright County in 1961.

He is survived by a daughter, Erma Hellwig of Eagle Grove, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother Guy and a sister Clara.

The funeral service for Fry will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Clair Odell officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Fairfield Public Library.
