21 May 1910 -- 7 July 2002

Eleanor Irene Bolsinger was born May 21, 1910 at the home of her grandparents, Cyrus and Inez Craig in Colesburg, Iowa, daughter of Charles and Elizabeth (Craig) Radabaugh. She passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2002 at Mercy Medical Center, Dubuque, Iowa after a short illness. Eleanor received her education in a one-room, schoolhouse in Graham, Iowa through the eighth grade. Later she attended school in Colesburg and Guttenberg. Eleanor also attended school in Goldfield, Iowa so she could take care of her Aunt Martha. On April 14, 1930 Eleanor was united in marriage to Clarence Edwin Bolsinger in Manchester, Iowa. In addition to being a homemaker, Eleanor worked for many years in the Guttenberg egg plant, Muters and Utah Manufacturing. Eleanor also helped her husband on the farm doing many things. She had her chickens, cows, pigs and a big garden for canning so she could cook huge meals for her family of ten children. Eleanor lived most of her life in the Colesburg area. The passed 61 years on the family farm in Graham. Eleanor, or Mom and Grandma, as most of us called her, enjoyed life to the fullest spending time with family, playing cards, reading, working puzzles, going to the senior citizens meal site in Greeley. Crocheting, embroidery work and making quilts for her children and grandchildren. Her family was her love and life.

Those left to cherish her memory include four daughters; Doris Bolsinger of Colesburg, Ruth (James) Horstman of Davenport; Lila Mae (Art) Herman Jr. and Ida Block both of Guttenberg; Five sons; Donald (Helen) Bolsinger; Robert (Sheila) Bolsinger, LeRoy Special friend, Barb Herman) Bolsinger, and Kenneth (Jane) Bolsinger all of Colesburg; Ralph (Patricia) Bolsinger of Mission, TX. Two sisters, Jennie Haines of Iowa Falls and Inez Barnhart of Edgewood. 44 grandchildren, 83 great grandchildren and 6 great-great -grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Elizabeth (Craig) Radabaugh; her husband Clarence; one son Delbert; one brother, Robert; seven grandchildren, Johnny, Ed, Bobby, Suzanne and Travis Bolsinger, Vickie and Mark Herman; and a son-in-law, Wilbur Block.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, July 9, 2002 at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Guttenberg. Services were conducted by Rev. Sue Ellen Sherman at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2002 at the Colesburg United Methodist Church. Her Active pallbearers were Kenny Horstman, Terry Bolsinger, Dale Bolsinger, Mark Herman, Jim Herman, David Bolsinger, and her honorary pallbearers were Lee Horstman, Danny Bolsinger, Bret Bolsinger, Jeff Block, Kent Bolsinger, and Randy Block. Interment was in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Colesburg, Iowa.
