Funeral services for Dennis Clifford Olden, 79, of Onamia, Minn. were Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012 at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Onamia. Burial was at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Onamia. In Lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Centra Care Gorecki Guest House, 1406 6th Ave. N, St. Cloud, MN 56303. Dennis died Sept. 3, 2012 at the St. Cloud Hospital. He was born on Aug. 29, 1933 in Hardy, Iowa to Roscoe C. Olden and Lucreta Luchsinger. He graduated from Vernon High School in 1951 and served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955 in the 124th Armored Ordinance Battalion. He was united in marriage to Verna L. Zuetlau on March 16, 1963 at St. Pauls Lutheran church in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Dennis had a love of farming that soon brought him to Minnesota. He was a member of the Living Waters Assembly of God church in Wahkon, Minn. He enjoyed working with his hands, gardening and spending time with his family. He had a great affection for horses and his beloved dog Flash.

He is survived by his wife Verna; daughters, Sheryl (Mike) Korte of Onamia, Holly (Chet) Thomas of Rapid City, S.D., Cindy (Todd) Gross of Hillman, Minn. and Charlotte (Kelly) Kohlgraf of Onamia; sisters, Patricia (Lloyd) Rowland of Harrisburg, Mo. and Carolyn (Clayton) Larsen of Humboldt, Iowa; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Dennis was preceded in death by his daughter Francine Olden; parents Roscoe and Lucreta Olden; and sister Kathleen Olden. Arrangements were by the Shelley Funeral Chapel of Onamia.
