Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church, Eagle Grove, for Loraine A. Nichols, 35, who died Sunday September 4, 1986 of natural causes at a Mason City hospital.
The Rev. Scott Hall of the United Methodist Church, Eagle Grove, will officiate and burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today until 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hogan-Bremer Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd NE, and one hour before services at the church. A prayer service will be held at 7 tonight at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Bernard Olson of the Clear Lake United Methodist Church officiating.
Mrs. Nichols was born December 4, 1950 in Belmond to Myron and Ruth (Ainger) Benton. She graduated from high school in Eagle Grove and worked for Franklin Manufacturing in Webster City, and several retail businesses in Eagle Grove. She married Steve Nichols in 1973 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. In 1974 she moved to Mason City and worked at Target as a cashier until retiring due to ill health. Mrs. Nichols was a member of the Clear Lake United Methodist Church and a former member of the United Methodist Church, Eagle Grove.
Survivors include her mother, Ruth Benton, Mason City; one son, Mark, Manly; one brother, Larry Benton, Phoenix, Arizona, and a paternal grandmother, Mrs. Nellie Benton, Eagle Grove. She was preceded in death by her father.
