Funeral services for Ira J. Studebaker, Sr. were held Thursday morning at 10 o'clock at St. Francis Catholic Church in Belmond. The Rev. R. A. Ormsby officiated and burial was at St. Francis cemetery. He had reached the age of 84 and lived in the Belmond area for 48 years. Surviving are two sons Ira J. and Charles of Belmond and five daughters, Marguerite Studebaker of Waterloo, Mrs. Joe (Irene) Relland of Clarion, Mrs. Tom (Josephine) Quigley, Virginia Studebaker and Mrs. Paul (Marion) Lee of Belmond; also 39 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

BELMOND — Ira Joseph Studebaker, 84, died at his home here Monday following a long illness. Funeral services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Francis Church here. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The Rosary will be said Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. at the Fulton Funeral Home.

Born in Baltimore, Ohio, Sept. 4, 1878, to Frank and Mary Studebaker, he was married at Utica, Ill., Feb. 16, 1904, to Mary Rose Bray. They came here in 1915 and farmed until retiring to Belmond in 1955. Mrs. Studebaker died in 1959. Surviving are two sons, Ira Jr. and Charles, both of Belmond; five daughters, Marguerite, Waterloo; Mrs. Tom (Josephine) Quigley, Belmond; Mrs. Joe (Irene) Reiland, Clarion; Virginia and Mrs. Paul (Marian) Lee, Belmond; a brother, Charles, Chicago; two sisters, Mrs. Stewart (Bertha) Staggs, Sunnyvale, Calif.; Mrs. William (Verna) Robinson, Ottawa, Ill.; 39 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were two daughters, three brothers, a sister, a grandchild and a great-grandchild.
