May 4, 1898 - May 10, 1967

Funeral services for Ilo Nickles, 69, were held at 1:30 p. m. Saturday at the Methodist Church with the Rev. Don Harbour officiating. Burial was in Webster City with the Van Hove Funeral Home in charge. Rev. Donald Harbour officiated. Mr. Nickles, who formerly farmed in the Woolstock area, died Wednesday at the Clarion Hospital where he was admitted the day before. Mr. Nickles was born May 4, 1898 at Woolstock, Iowa. He moved to the Dows area 1959 from the Blairsburg and Woolstock area where he had lived his lifetime before that. He was the son of John and Sadie Nickles. He married Jennie Scheppler on January 14, 1921 at Webster City. He is survived by his wife, two daughters and three sons, Dorothy, Mrs. Duane Peterson of Holmes; LaVeta, Mrs. Glen Batcheller of Webster City, Blaine of Galt, Bernard of Palmer, Louis I. of Des Moines, 3 brothers, Rayner of Webster City, Louis of St. Louis, Mo., Wilbur of Warrensburg, Mo. and three sisters, Mrs. Charles (Mary) Caster of Blairsburg, Mrs. Myrtle Bernard of Webster City and Mrs. Lottie Pettinger of Mason City. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister and his parents.
