October 20, 1882 --- December 12, 1951

Emily Leah Conkings, the eldest child of John and Dellcena Conkings was born at Parkersburg, Iowa on October 20th, 1882 and passed from this life December 12th, 1951. While still a child she moved with her parents to a farm in Wright County, Iowa. Miss Conkings was united in marriage to Clarence F. Wilde on July 1, 1905. They first established their home at Tama, Iowa but soon moved to Eagle Grove which has been the family home ever since. One son, Cecil, was born to the family. During the flu epidemic of 1918 Mr. Wilde was taken from his family. Since that time Mrs. Wilde has been employed by the McGrath law office, her work for three generations of the same family has extended through a period of over 30 years. Besides her employment she found time for her many outside activities. She was an active member of the Methodist church, the Eastern Star, the White Shrine and the Equality Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence and her three brothers, Lyle, Harrison, and Elmer Conkings. She leaves to mourn her passing her son Cecil, her daughter-in-law, Laura, and three grandchildren, Marilyn, Clarence, and Paul, all of this community; one sister Ione, Mrs. Arvig Nelson of Clear Lake, and many friends of this community in which she was so well known.
