Chas. Rowen, 71, Succumbs Tuesday

Charles Rowen, 72, former Clarion resident, died Tuesday morning at the Deaconess hospital in Marshalltown. The body will be brought to Rowan where funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Congregational church. Fulton Funeral Home of Belmond is in charge of arrangements. The body will be at the Rowan church at 11 a. m.

Mr. Rowen was born in Clarion. He was a former clerk for the Chicago Great Western railroad here
and in Des Moines. A few years ago he went to Marshalltown to make his home with a cousin, Nelle Pierce, a Marshalltown teacher. Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Maggie Templeton; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. James Rowen of Clarion, a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
