March 23, 1923 ---- April 26, 2008

GREENSBORO, NC — Mr. Carroll Howard Kuehnast, 85, of Greensboro, passed away from this earthly life to be with his Savior on Saturday, April 26, 2008. A memorial celebration of his life will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, May 4, at Ebenezer Lutheran Church, with the Reverend Dr. Dan Koenig and Reverend Joshua Haugen officiating.

Mr. Kuehnast was born on March 23, 1923, in Humboldt County, Iowa, to Edwin and Caroline Kuehnast. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was married for over 59 years to the late Beverly Locke Kuehnast who died on January 6, 2007. He lived most of his married life in Tucson, Arizona. In 2005, he and Beverly moved to Greensboro to be closer to family. Mr. Kuehnast is survived by daughter, Carolyn Koenig and husband, Dan, of Greensboro; son, Rod Kuehnast, of Bend, Oregon; sister, Elna Kuehnast, of Greensboro; brothers, Roy Kuehnast, Leo Kuehnast, and wife, Lola Mae, of Humboldt County, Iowa, Lloyd Kuehnast of Nebraska; grandchildren, Katie Kuehnast and fiancée, James Dickson, of Bend, Oregon, Mary Kaye Kuehnast, Daniel W. Koenig and wife, Jennifer, of Greensboro, Carrie Rorie and husband, Brandon of Thomasville and Christi Koenig and husband, Jeff Allred of Holly Springs; great-grandchildren, Danny, Ticer, and Anna Rorie, Nel Koenig and Max Koenig and many friends on East 19th Street in Tucson, Arizona, where he and his wife spent over 50 years. The family will receive friends following the memorial service on Sunday. Memorials may be directed to Ebenezer Lutheran Church, 1900 Walker Avenue, Greensboro, NC.
