Funeral services for Mrs. Ada Lambertson, 79, of Pocahontas were held Monday afternoon, June 5, at 1:30 o'clock at the home and at 2 o'clock at the Methodist church here. The Rev. J. R. Kirby officiated. Burial was in Washington cemetery at Havelock. Grandsons serving as pallbearers were Clarence Johnson, Glen Joachims, Ivan Carlson, Homer Lambertson, Francis Johnson and Earl Joachims.

Mrs. Lambertson died Thursday afternoon at her home. She had been ill since May 3 when she fell and fractured her shoulder after which pneumonia and other complications developed. Born at Rutland, Vt., June 4, 1870, she was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Goodman. When she was a young girl the family moved to Galt, Iowa. On February 4, 1891, she was married at Forest City, Ia., to William Lambertson. In 1903 they moved onto a farm near Rolfe which was known as the Shannon Ranch. They farmed there for six years and moved to Pocahontas in 1909. Mr. Lambertson engaged in tiling and Mrs. Lambertson worked as a seamstress; In 1929 they moved to New York City where Mr. Lambertson was employed as a gate keeper at a railroad. They returned to Pocahontas in 1939 and made their home with their children for two years and then moved into a small home which they purchased. On February 4, 1941, the couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. Mr. Lambertson died March 31, 1948. Until the time of her illness Mrs. Lambertson did much needlework and quilting. She was a Gold Star Mother of the American Legion Auxiliary. Ten of the Lambertsons' 14 children survive their mother. Three daughters died in infancy and one son, George, died in World War I. Surviving are: Lonnie of Menomonie, Wis., Earl and Clyde of Stanton Island, N. Y., Gilbert of Thompson, Pa., Raymond of Rolfe, Mrs, Sherman Johnson, Mrs. Adolph Johnson and Mrs. Charles Joachims of Pocahontas, Mrs. Lawrence Thompson of Britt and Mrs. Carlson of Hector, Minn. There are over 50 grandchildren and over 25 great-grandchildren.
