Services for Wm. Lambertson
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Methodist church here for William Monroe Lambertson, 84, who died at his home at 6:50 Wednesday, March 31, as the result of a stroke suffered March 20. He had been in failing health for nine years. The Rev. J. R. Kirby officiated at the services. Burial was in the family lot in Washington cemetery at Havelock with the Rev. Albertson of Havelock officiating. Two grandchildren, Francis E. Johnson of Emmetsburg and Norman Johnson of Ames, served as honorary pallbearers. Six other grandchildren were active pallbearers. They were Glen Joachims of Sheldon, Bernard Johnson of Davenport, Howard Lambertson of Menomonie, Wisc., Arvin Carlson of Hector, Minn., Clarence Johnson of Manson and Earl Joachims of Pocahontas. Mr. Lambertson was born March 14, 1864, at Peoria, Ill. His marriage to Ada Grace Goodman took place at Forest City, Iowa, February 4, 1891. In May 1892, they established their home at Galt, Iowa, where they lived for five years after which they moved to Havelock, Iowa. In 1903 they moved onto a farm, formerly called the "Shannon Ranch" near Rolfe. After farming there for six years they moved to Pocahontas and Mr. Lambertson engaged in tiling, doing this work on many farms throughout Pocahontas county. Survivors are his widow, five sons, Lonnie of Menomonie, Wisc., Earl of New York, Clyde, Raymond and Gilbert of Staten Island, New York; five daughters, Mrs. Lawrence Thompson of Northwood, Mrs. Sherman Johnson, Mrs. Charles Joachims, Mrs. Harry Carlson and Mrs. Adolph Johnson of Pocahontas.
