Rosa F. Ward the daughter of Carl and Myrtle (Blenner) Ehlert was born January 16, 1930 in Popejoy, Iowa. She died on Friday, September 30, 2011 at Valley Vue Care Center in Armstrong, Iowa at the age of 81. She received her education in Popejoy schools, graduating from Popejoy High School. On October 1, 1950 she was united in marriage to John Ward in Alden, Iowa. The couple farmed near Alden, Iowa until 1957. The couple then moved to Virginia where John was a Milk tester. In 1962, they moved to Dows, Iowa then in 1964 to Swea City, Iowa where she was a housekeeper for various families. John died on May 7, 1989. Rosa was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Swea City. Left to cherish Rosa's memory is her son, Jimmy Ward of Swea City; grandson, Shawn Damrau of Brainerd, Minnesota; son-in-law, Ed Damrau of Webster, South Dakota and many nephews and cousins. She has been preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Marie Ann Damrau and twin sister, Rozella Leggett. Interment in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Swea City.
