Services for Halver Skiye, 81, were held Sept. 18 in Lake Lutheran Church, Goldfield. Burial was in the church cemetery. Lindhart Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Skiye died early Saturday morning at Humboldt Care Center South. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Frank Clancy, Humboldt; sons Clifford and Norman, both of Hardy, and Art, Goldfield; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and sisters: Mrs. Ole Lerdal and Mrs. Hans Lerdal, both of Goldfield. Mr. Skiye was born in Stavanger, Norway, and came to Humboldt County at age 16. He married Kristi Wogen and they farmed in Lake Township until retiring and moving to Hardy. Mrs. Skiye died in 1957. Officiating at final rites was Pastor Victor Sorenson. Casket bearers were Larry Rasmussen, Virgil Rasmussen, Carl Spellmeyer, William Walkner, Harold Pannell and Carl Lippolt. Special music was provided by Kenneth Vorland, soloist, accompanied by Agnes Sampson at the organ. Floral arrangements were in charge of Mrs. Lewis Sampson, Mrs. Stephen Packard and Mrs. Stanley Sampson. Ushers were Don Hooker and Alvin Hansen.
