Mrs. Halver Skiye dies unexpectedly at her home in Hardy Thursday eve.
Funeral Services were held on Saturday, December 28, from the Lake Lutheran Church for Mrs Halver
Skiye, well known resident of this area, who died suddenly Thursday evening at her home. Casket bearers were Arnold Amerson, Raymond Amerson, Myron Clancy, Howard Rasmussen, Alfred Ranmussen and Nick Anderson. Rev Orville Olson officiated at the services and burial was in the Lake
cemetery.Kristi Skiye was born on March 5, 1893, to Nels and Nelsina Vigen, in Hardanger, Norway, where she was baptized and confirmed. At the age of 16, she came to this country. She was united in marriage to Halver Skiye on February 16, 1914, at Eagle Grove, Iowa. To this union born four children: Mrs Frank (Ida) Clancy, Norman, Clifford, and Arthur Skiye, all of Hardy. They spent their married life farming in Lake Township, until 1949, when they retired and moved to Hardy. It was at their home in Hardy where she passed away unexpectedly on the evening of December 26, 1967. She leaves to mourn her passing, her beloved husband, her four children, five grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Olaf Lonning of Thor and her aged mother, two sisters and two brothers in Norway.
