Ole Skiye, 86, died Friday at the Crestview Manor Nursing Home at Webster City, where he had made his home for the past year. Funeral services were held at 2 p. m. Monday at Lake Lutheran Church in Renwick, with the Rev. R. W. Hoppenworth officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Sandvig's Funeral Home in Eagle Grove was in charge of arrangements. Surviving are his wife, Thora; two sons, Willis, Clarion; Hilman, Webster City; a daughter. Miss Hilma of Goldfield; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Halvor of Hardy; Hartvig of Norway; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Lerdal and Mrs. Mary Lerdal, both of Goldfield.

Born in Norway, Mr. Skiye came to Iowa at the age of 18 and settled in Humboldt County. In 1913 he married Thora Wilson at Eagle Grove and the couple farmed in Humboldt County, Lake township for fifty years. They retired and moved to Goldfield in 1965. Mr. Skiye was a member of Lake Lutheran Church, very active in the Farm Bureau, served many years on the school board and contributed much time to church and community organizations.
