Services were held on Sunday afternoon at the Methodist church for Mrs. Nettie Milligan, 68, who passed away on Jan. 19 in Seattle, Wash., in the home of her son, Ed Milligan. Rev. J. H. Miller officiated and Fulton funeral home was in charge. A ladies trio composed of Margo Gowdy, Mrs. Dr. Leinbach and Mrs. Clark Mcneal sang two numbers, "He Holds My Hand" and "Be Still My Soul." Organ accompanist was Mrs. L. M. Helland. Besides beautiful flowers, memorial gifts of money were given for the Children's home at Dubuque. Interment was in Belmond cemetery. Casket bearers were Carl Trager, Paul Bohning. Peter Bohning, James O'Conner, Rollin Mosiman and Henry Steenblock.
Mrs. Milligan was born in Germany on April 10, 1885, and came to the U. S. in 1890. She was married to William Milligan in 1905 who preceded her in death in 1929. They were parents of three children: Ed and Ruth of Seattle, Wash., and Paul of Belmond. For many years they made their home in Klemme, Goodell and Belmond. The last two or three years of her life she was with her son in Seattle where she died. Other survivors are two sisters, Mrs. Ben Daniels and Mrs. Bill Bohning of Belmond: two brothers, Elso Steenblock of Belmond and Henry of California. Two brothers and one sister preceded her in death.
