Jerome "Pete" Hanson, age 66, of Mapleton, died on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at Mayo Clinic Health System, Mankato. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 16 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Teresa Catholic Church with Rev. Tim Biren officiating. Visitation will be on Friday from 4-8 at the church with a 7 p.m. prayer service. Visitation will also continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Mapleton. Olson-Tichenor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Pete was born on October 11, 1945 in Belmond, IA to Richard and Lois (Walrod) Hanson. He graduated from Buffalo Center High School. On July 15, 1967 Pete was united in marriage to Linda Langworthy at St. Teresa Catholic Church in Mapleton. He worked in the auto body business for over 40 years. After retirement Pete worked part time for Corporate Graphics. Pete enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and working in his yard. He especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends and attending his grandchildren's sporting events. He was an avid Twins and Vikings fan.
Pete is survived by his wife, Linda of Mapleton; sons, Bryan Hanson of Mapleton, Craig (Rachel) Hanson of Minnesota Lake, and Kevin (Tracy) Hanson of Dassel; grandchildren: Paige, Cody, Reise, Brooklyn, Danielle, Lilianna, Isaac, and Bailey; sister, Jan Blankenship of Leland, IA; brother, Charles Sonny (Deb) Hanson of Albert Lea; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Carol Davis, father-in-law, two brothers-in-law, and two sisters-in-law.
