Frances (Fran) Sue Sherman, 76, of Stuart, Iowa passed away May 28, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family. Funeral Services will be held 10:30 A.M. Friday, June 1, 2012 at the Johnson Family Funeral Home in Stuart. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M., with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00, Thursday, May 31 at the Johnson Family Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Elkhorn Cemetery in Moreland, IA. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa and/or the Friends Church and may be sent in care of Johnson Family Funeral Home, PO box 246, Stuart, Iowa 50250.

Fran was born to Olive and Lee Fiala, on February 23, 1936, in Eagle Grove Iowa. She grew up in Moorland, Iowa, and graduated valedictorian of her class. After high school, Fran went on to study nursing and became an LPN. He married the late Harold Holland in 1955, and they become the parents of four children. They raised their family near Sioux City, later moving to Stuart in the late 60's. Harold preceded Fran in death. She was united in marriage to Bill (John) Sherman in 1990 in Stuart, Iowa. Fran was employed at the Stuart Care Center, as a nurse for many years. She loved gardening, bird watching, and her grandchildren. She and Bill were annual "Winter Texans" in Alamo, Texas. Fran is survived by Bill, her husband of 22 years, her children, Kurt (Emily) Holland, Kimberly (Neal) Moss, Kyle (Carla) Holland, Kirby (Tammy) Holland; eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren, sister, Karen (Art) Knutson, and many nieces, nephews and friends. She will be missed by those who loved her and will leave many with cherished memories.
