ARMSTRONG, Iowa - Memorial services for Richard E. Pergande, 59, of Armstrong will be 11 a.m. Friday at Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel, Armstrong. Private family burial will be at the Armstrong Grove Cemetery.

Pergande died Sunday, May 27, 2012, at his home in Armstrong. Richard Pergande was born Nov. 15, 1952, in Clarion, Iowa, son of Ernest and Barbara (Johnson) Pergande. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1971-1973. Survivors include: wife, Bonnie of Armstrong; children, Julie Watson of St. Louis, Mo., Jason Pergande of Armstrong, and Jesse Pergande of Armstrong; and siblings, Bruce Pergande of Webster City, Iowa, Kathy Christensen of Humboldt, Iowa, Vicki of Humboldt and Greg Pergande of Kenosha, Wis.

Richard Ernest Pergande, the son of Ernest and Barbara (Johnson) Pergande, was born November 15, 1952, in Clarion, Iowa. He passed away Sunday, May 27, 2012, at his home in Armstrong, Iowa, at the age of 59. He received his education in the Renwick, Iowa, schools. Richard served in the United States Marine Corps from 1971 - 1973.

He was united in marriage to Mary Murray in 1975. The couple later divorced. Richard was employed in the building and construction industry and drove truck. On July 13, 2001, he was united in marriage to Bonnie Wegner. The couple made their home in Armstrong and from 2002, Richard was employed at GKN Wheels until failing health no longer allowed him to work. In his leisure time he enjoyed western movies, playing pool and gold prospecting.

Left to cherish Richard's memory are his wife, Bonnie of Armstrong; his children, Julie (Martin) Watson of St. Louis, Missouri, Jason Pergande of Armstrong, Jesse (Amber) Pergande of Armstrong; his grandchildren, Jackson, Liam, Hallie and Landon; and siblings, Bruce (Linda) Pergande of Webster City, Iowa, Kathy (David) Christianson of Humboldt, Iowa, Vicki Fortner of Humboldt and Greg Pergande of Kenosha, Wisconsin, and brother- in-law Dean Kitley of Fort Dodge. Preceding Richard in death were his parents and sister, Vivian.
