Mrs. Thompson, Killed in Accident, to Be Buried at Eagle GroveEAGLE GROVE, Oct. 18— Funeral services for Mrs. Henry O. Thompson, 40, who died Tuesday in the
hospital in Clarion, as a result of an automobile accident near Holmes that day, will be held at the west side Lutheran church, Eagle Grove, Friday afternoon in charge of the Rev. H. S. Fauske and burial will be made in Rose Hill cemetery. Her father, John Buhner, Sr., died three years ago. She is survived by her mother; three brothers, Leroy, to Redwood Falls, Minn.; John and Clarence in Eagle Grove; and three sisters, Mrs. J. W. Accident Occured on Primary 10, One Mile East of Holmes. Three Others are Slightly Hurt.
Mrs. Henry O. Thompson was fatally hurt in an auto accident near Holmes Tuesday morning about 10:30, and died in the hospital at Clarion at 3 o'clock, Tuesday afternoon.
The other occupants of the car were slightly hurt but it is not thought their injuries are serious, they are:
Mrs. John Sampson, bruised and shocked.
Miss Myrtle Larson, cut and bruised.
Henry Thompson, nerve shock and bruises.They were returning from a visit at the Guy Larson home at Austin, Minnesota. Mr. Thompson was driving and about a mile east of Holmes, a rear tire blew out and the car immediately turned over, but did not leave the pavement. Assistance was rendered by people from passing cars. Ed Paine of Eagle Grove was the first to reach the wreck and assisted in getting the injured people out of the car and rushed to doctors' offices. Mr. and Mrs. Thompson were taken to the hospital at Clarion and Miss Larson and Mrs. Sampson were taken care of by Dr. Bassinger of Goldfield and all were later brought to their homes in Eagle Grove. Both Mr. Thompson and Mrs. Sampson were unable to get up and around Wednesday, but are suffering more from shock than from their injuries. Miss Larson was able to get about her home Wednesday.
Funeral services for Mrs. Thompson will be held at the West Side Lutheran church tomorrow, Friday afternoon, at 2 o'clock.
Mae Buhner Thompson was born at Fulda, Minnesota, May 31, 1895. She moved with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Buhner, to Eagle Grove when the late Mr. Buhner started the Eagle Grove Greenhous and has since made her home here. She was united in marriage to Henry O. Thompson, March 31, 1921. She is survived by her mother, Mrs. John Buhner of Eagle Grove, four sisters, Mrs. J. W. Nichols, Chicago, and Hattie, Laura and Freda Buhner of Eagle Grove, three brothers Roy Buhner of Redwood Falls, Minnesota, and John and Clarence of Eagle Grove.
John Buhner and Calvert Cran have been installing oil burners in Western Iowa. They were at Dennison at the time Mr. Buhner's sister, Mrs. H. O. Thompson, was fatally injured in the auto accident. Mr. Buhner was informed of his sister's death by a phone message from Clarion.
