Eagle Grove Woman Dies After Illness
Arrange Last Rites

EAGLE GROVE — Mrs. Anna Buhner Nichols, 42, died Thursday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Nelson in this city after a lingering illness of several years. Funeral arrangements have not been completed. Surviving are two daughters; three sisters and three brothers. The sisters are Mrs. Cecil Wilde, Mrs. Robert Fisher and Miss Hattie Buhner of Eagle Grove and brothers are LeRoy of Redwood Falls, Minn., and John and Clarence in this city.

Anna R. Buhner Nichols, the daughter of John G. and Rosa Worby Buhner, was born at Fulda, Minnesota, November 5, 1897, and died at Eagle Grove on July 6, 1939, her age being at the time of her death, being 41 years, 8 months and 1 day. She moved to Eagle Grove with her family in June, 1917. On October 19, 1921, she was married to John Wm. Nichols at Eagle Grove. To this union were born two daughters, Freda Arlene and Virginia May. In 1926, they moved to Chicago, where Mr. Nichols was employed by the Chicago and North Western Railroad. This was their home until the death of Mr. Nichols which occurred September 28, 1937. Mrs. Nichols and daughters then moved to Eagle Grove, which has since been their home.

Besides the two daughters, she is survived by three sisters, Miss Hattie Buhner, Mrs. Cecil Wilde and Mrs. Robert Fisher, all of Eagle Grove; and three brothers, LeRoy and Clarence of Redwood Falls, Minnesota, and John of Eagle Grove. Her father, mother, three sisters and one brother preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held at the Kubitschek and Kastler Funeral Home Saturday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock, Rev. A. S. Kilbourn, officiating. Appropriate duets were sung by Mrs. Fannie Cotton and Mrs. Vina Hall. Mrs. Ollie Cowan Johnson, accompanist. Burial was in the family lot at Rose Hill cemetery.
