Ramona Gail Blomker, 80
Ramona Gail Blomker - Passed away May 11th in Whittier [California] after a short illness, surrounded by her family. Born in Renwick, Iowa April 8, 1930 to Merlin and Thelma Belt, she was the second of four children. She married Robert Keil Blomker and moved with Roberta and Roger to Whittier in 1957. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and two daughters, Ramona is survived by her brother, Dean Belt of Riverside, her children Roger Blomker of Hesperia, Rhonda Espinoza of Thousand Oaks, and grandchildren: Christine Langley, Brenda Stedman, Teresa Benjamin, Robert Blomker, Erin Espinoza, Adam Espinoza, Bethany Gillispie, Jared Gillispie, Wendi Baptist, Eric Cadger, Karl Davis. Also twelve great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
Ramona began working early in life as a waitress, and then worked as a hair dresser in uptown Whittier for many years and had many friends through her church and other activities. In her later years, she volunteered at the Interfaith Food Center, Meals on Wheels as well as through her church, with such activities as baking cookies for Sunday services and helping with receptions. Ramona was always involved in her children's activities, from sports to band and later in her grandchildren's activities from sports to band to theater. She was an avid sports fan, following the Angels, Lakers, and Clippers. Ramona was a helping hand, a caring heart and a loving person. She made an impression on everyone she touched. She will be deeply and sorely missed.
Viewing will be held on Sunday, May 16 here at White-Emerson Mortuary from 2-4pm. Funeral Services will be held Monday May 17 at 2pm @ First United Methodist Church of Whittier, 13222 Bailey Street, Whittier. Flowers can be sent here to White-Emerson Mortuary. You may also make donations in memory of Ramona to the Whittier Chapter of Meals on Wheels. Burial in Rose Hills Memorial Park, Whittier.
