March 10, 1918 - June 27, 2011

Ruby Julia Emanuel, age 93, of Noel, Missouri was called to heaven with her loving family by her side on Monday, June 27, 2011 at Highland Health and Rehab in Bella Vista, Arkansas.

Ruby was born in Nodaway, Iowa on March 10, 1918 to the late Willie Weaver and Katherine (Knittel) Walker. She married Marion Franklin Porterfield on October 4, 1935 at Holton, Kansas, they moved to Noel, Missouri in 1951 coming from Renwick, Iowa. Ruby became a born again Christian in 1952 and lived to be a blessing to friends and family the rest of her life. Many young people were influenced by her life. She was a 4-H leader in Iowa, a cook at the Noel School and Sunday School teacher at the Noel United Methodist, where she was a faithful and active member. Her husband Marion passed away May 27, 1962; she married Milton C. Emanuel on April 12, 1963 at the Noel United Methodist Church. Ruby was well known for her smile and upbeat attitude. Life threw her many curves and she lived her faith through them all.

She was preceded in death by her second husband, Milton Emanuel on February 27, 1995, stepson, Denton Emanuel, a sister Gladys Kinnison and a granddaughter, Janet Garner. Ruby is survived by her three children, Joan Stauber and husband, Jim of Noel, Missouri, Jeanne Quinn of Sierra Vista, Arizona, Robert Porterfield and wife, Doris of Noel, Missouri; a stepson, Wayne Emanuel and wife, Anna Lee of Sulphur Springs, Arkansas; a sister, Edna Roseberry of Yuma, Arizona, a brother, Kenneth Walker of Red Oak, Iowa; eight grandchildren, Robert Stauber, Jimmy Stauber, Vickie Quigley, Lynn Wright, Carole Kimsey, Rick Porterfield, Gayle Hanke, Frank Porterfield; 19 great grandchildren; 17 great great grandchildren; along with many other family, friends and neighbors who will dearly miss Ruby and her kind, loving ways.
