Kenneth G. Nolte was born November 17, 1924 in Dows, Iowa. He entered into rest December 24, 2011 in Oceanside, California. He is survived by his wife: Ruth Helen Nolte, sons: Kenneth and Mark Nolte. A visitation will be held Wednesday, January 4, 2012 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Eternal Hills Mortuary in Oceanside, California. A graveside service will be held Thursday, January 5, 2012 at 2:30 pm at Eternal Hills Memorial Park in Oceanside, California.

Kenneth Grupe Nolte, 87

OCEANSIDE, CA -- Kenneth Grupe Nolte, born November 17, 1924 to Edwin and Daisy Nolte, passed peacefully away at home Saturday, December 24, 2011. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Ruth Helen Nolte; his daughter, Teri Gable; his two sons, Ken Tai Nolte and Mark Nolte; his two sisters, Dottie Voigt and Opal Draper; his five granddaughters, Natasha, Carolyn, Shahtese, Jennifer and Zanna; and his five great-grandchildren, Lorcan, Elizabeth, Clodagh, Odin and Aurelia. Ken graduated Popejoy [Iowa] High School in 1942 and immediately joined the Navy. He served his country as a Hospital Corpsman, retiring with honor in 1965, attaining the rank of Chief Petty Officer. After retiring, he worked for Bechtel Corp., as the Safety Engineer during the construction of the San Onofre Nuclear plant. He then worked for Deutsch Manufacturing as a Master Mechanic for the next 20 + years before retiring. While working there, he got an A.S. degree from Mira Costa College for Mechanical Engineering. Ken's passions in his life, besides his family, were fishing, golfing and gardening. Services for Ken will be held at Eternal Hills Memorial Park with the viewing on Wednesday, January 4 from 4 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 5 at 2:30 p.m., also at Eternal Hills. All who knew and loved Ken are invited to attend. Ken was a great and honorable man who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
