Services Here Thursday for Ole Dalen, 73

Ole Dalen, 73, of Estherville, former long time resident of this area, died Monday forenoon at Holy Family Hospital after a brief illness. Death was attributed to old age. Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) at Bethel Lutheran Church with Rev. O.J. Reitz officiating. The Fuhrman Funeral home is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery.

Ole John Dalen was born Jan. 24, 1896 at Haugesund, Norway. He received his education in Norway schools. He came to this country at the age of 16, to Goldfield, Iowa. On April 15, 1919 he married Amanda Mundahl. They came to this area in 1936 and farmed in Palo Alto and Emmet counties. Mrs. Dalen died in 1951. He retired from farming in 1953 and moved to Denver, Colorado, where he was employed by a lumber company for 12 years, after which he retired and moved to Estherville. He was a member of Bethel Lutheran church in Graettinger.
